FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS - She Drives Me Crazy - 1988

Το συγκρότημα των Fine Young Cannibals δημιουργήθηκε στο Birmingham απο τους Andy Cox ( κιθάρα ), David Steele ( μπάσο ) – οι οποίοι ήταν μέλη του συγκροτήματος Beat – και τον τραγουδιστή Roland Gift, ο οποίος ήταν γνωστός και για το υποκριτικό του ταλέντο στην Βρετανία, αφού είχε παίξει στις ταινίες ‘’Sammy and Rosie Get Laid’’ και ‘’Scandal’’. Το ύφος του συγκροτήματος ήταν η χορευτική μουσική με αρκετά στοιχεία απο τον ήχο της Motown. To 1988 κυκλοφόρησαν τον δίσκο ‘’The Raw & The Cooked’’ που έμμελε να είναι και ο δίσκος που με την τεράστια επιτυχία που γνώρισε σε Αμερική και Μ.Βρετανία θα οδηγούσε το συγκρότημα στην διάλυση του . Ο δίσκος που ηχογραφήθηκε στα Studios του Prince στην Μινεάπολη, θεωρείτε απο τους καλύτερους δίσκους της δεκαετίας του ’80. Μέσα σε αυτό τον δίσκο υπήρχε και το τραγούδι ‘’She Drives Me Crazy’’.

The Fine Young Cannibals were formed in Birmingham by former Beat members Andy Cox (guitar), David Steele (bass) – and singer Roland Gift, a known actor who starred in the films “Sammy and Rosie Get Laid” and “Scandal”. The band’s sound was influenced by dance music with several elements of Motown soul. In 1988 they released the album “The Raw &The Cooked” which was destined to be the album that lead to the band’s break up, after it met great success in the United States and the UK. The album, recorded at Prince Studios in Minneapolis, is considered one of the best albums of the 80’s and featured the hit song “She Drives Me Crazy”.
