MANIC STREET PREACHERS - If You Tolerate This,Your Children Will Be Next - 1998

Το συγκρότημα των Manic Street Preachers δημιουργήθηκε στο Blackwood της Ουαλίας και παρά την εικόνα που είχαν δημιουργήσει με έντονο πολιτικό προφίλ πλησιάζοντας μουσικά το Punk, τα μελωδικά τους τραγούδια προσέγγιζαν το hard rock. Απο το ντεπούτο album τους ‘’Generation Terrorists’’ , το ‘’Holy Bible’’ όπου ήταν και ο τελευταίος δίσκος με τον Richey James πρίν εξαφανιστεί ( εξαφανίστηκε την 1η Φεβρουαρίου 1995 και δηλώθηκε νεκρός στις 23 Νοεμβρίου 2008 ) και μέχρι και το πιο πρόσφατο ‘’Resistance is Futile’’ το συγκρότημα των Manic Street Preachers βελτιωνότανε στιχουργικά αλλά και μουσικά κερδίζοντας συνέχεια νέους ακροατές χωρίς όμως να καταφέρει ποτέ να κερδίσει την αμερικάνικη αγορά. Το ‘’If You Tolerate This, Your Children Will Be Next’’ είναι ενα απο τα καλύτερα τραγούδια του συγκροτήματος που πήγε κατευθείαν στην πρώτη θέση στην Μεγάλη Βρετανία.

Manic Street Preachers formed in Blackwood, Wales and combined punk sensibilities with a strong political message, while their songs melodically recalled hard rock. From their debut album ” Generation Terrorists ”, ” Holy Bible ” which was the last album with Richey Edwards (he disappeared on February 1, 1995 and was declared dead on November 23, 2008) and their latest release “Resistance is Futile” the band have constantly improved lyrically and musically, and gained new fans, but never managed to win over the American market. “If You Tolerate This, Your Children Will Be Next” is one of the band’s greatest songs that went straight to number one in the UK.
