ANIMALS – The House Of The Rising Sun – 1964

Οταν ο Eric Burdon άκουσε για πρώτη φορά στο ραδιόφωνο τοThe House Of The Rising Sun απο τον Josh White ήταν 10 χρονών και απο τότε δεν ξέχασε ποτέ το συναίσθημα που του δημιούργησε αυτό το τραγούδι. Οταν λοιπόν ενσωματώθηκε στο συγκρότημα των Alan Price Combo, άλλαξε το όνομα σε Animals και ζήτησε απο το συγκρότημα να ερμηνεύσουν αυτό το παραδοσιακό αμερικάνικο τραγούδι. Πάρα τις αντιρρήσεις της δισκογραφικής τους εταιρίας EMI που δεν ήθελε να κυκλοφορήσει ένα τραγούδι σαν singleπου είχε διάρκεια μεγαλύτερη των 4 λεπτών, το τραγούδι κυκλοφόρησε κανονικά και έμελλε να γίνει μια απο τις μεγαλύτερες επιτυχίες του συγκροτήματος!

When Eric Burdon first heard The House Of The Rising Sun by Josh White on the radio he was 10 years old and he has never forgotten the feeling that this song gave him. So when he joined the Alan Price Combo, he changed the name to Animals and asked the band to perform this traditional American song. Despite the objections of their record company EMI, that did not want to release a song as a single that lasted more than 4 minutes, the song was released normally and went on to become one of the biggest hits of the band!
